The concert at Smith Square on 3rd October was truly magnificent; a large audience, I suspect many had never seen or heard such a thing before, and
an amazing performance. True musicianship which resulted in a recital which could have been given by any top-class pianist; it simply did not sound like a
pianola at all. Those who were there who know nothing about this instrument could easily think that it is just a matter of setting it going, not knowing that a
great deal of musicianship and skill is required in creating a true musical performance. This is what we heard, and I have been inspired to try to do better in
my own efforts with my pianola.
