This roll is pretty much blank - no information on the leader and hardly any printing on the roll itself. It sounds familiar but I can't place it.

Can you recognise it?

The recording is not good - bad sound quality and bad playing, especially towards the end, but it should be enough to recognise it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mark,

It's a medley of selections from the Sigmund Romberg operetta - 'The Desert Song'. It was made into a film in the 1950s - hence the familiar sounding tunes.

Hi Gary,

Thanks very much for that. Yes, I've found several clips from that movie and also a pre-war version on Youtube. Now I know how the songs should be played!
